Weapon Upgrades

Weapons in 77-Bit can be enhanced to boost their stats, letting you tackle tougher challenges without changing your overall playstyle. The upgrade process involves two main steps: Upgrading and Reforging. Understanding rarity, upgrade limits, and the reforge process is key to maximizing your gear.
Random Rarity: When you loot a weapon, it’s assigned a rarity tier (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary). Higher-tier weapons usually provide more or better base stats.
Stat Count: For example, a higher-rarity weapon might have multiple initial stats (e.g., +2 Attack, +2 Vitality) compared to a lower-rarity item with fewer stats and less damage potential. Always check the weapon’s name or code to see if it signals a higher rarity.
Static NPC Weapons: Some weapons are bought directly from NPC traders; their rarity is fixed and doesn’t depend on random assignment.
Upgrading Your Weapon
Limited Upgrades: Each weapon can be upgraded up to 10 times. Every upgrade adds a fixed amount to its existing stats.
Progression Example: A low-tier weapon might gain +3 damage per upgrade, while a higher-tier weapon could gain +9, reflecting its superior base power.
Finding the Best Fit: Since upgrades stack, it’s generally most efficient to invest in a higher-quality weapon. However, a lower-rarity item may still be worth upgrading temporarily until you locate an ideal end-game piece.
Reforging
Once a weapon hits its 10th upgrade, you can Reforge it. Reforging resets all applied upgrades and returns the weapon’s stats to their baseline, but unlocks a higher potential upgrade path for bigger gains with each step.
Reset & Potential Gains: Reforging brings a weapon back to its base state, then allows new upgrades with potentially larger stat boosts.
Costs: You’ll need specific resources, such as Chromium (in various rarities) and a Reforge Schematic corresponding to your weapon type (e.g., a Sabre Reforge Schematic for a Sabre). These can be found in quests, stores, or dungeon drops. The higher the reforge level you aim for, the rarer the resources you’ll need.
Risks & Rewards: There’s a chance the weapon might break during reforging, removing it and its upgrades from your inventory. Higher reforge levels have a greater risk of failure. However, successfully reforged weapons can become significantly stronger.
Incremental Power: The higher a weapon’s reforge level, the more its upgrades improve it. For instance, a never-reforged weapon might gain +3 damage per upgrade, while a reforged one might gain +9 at each upgrade level—leading to a far stronger final result.
Weapon reforges are done using Reforge Schematics, a rare resource found in quest rewards, stores, and dungeons. Each weapon type has its own schematic (e.g., only Sabre Reforge Schematics work for Sabre-type weapons). The item’s description will highlight its weapon type, so be sure to match it correctly.
By planning your upgrades, deciding when to reforge, and managing resources wisely, you’ll continually push your weapons to new heights, balancing risk, reward, and raw power in 77-Bit.
